IMPORTANT NOTICE TO WEBLEY SHOOTERS & WEBLEY RETAILERS

WEBLEY (INTERNATIONAL) LTD AND BLAZE PUBLISHING LTD

(Publishers of "Gun Trade News" magazine)

In the January/February Issue of the above publication, Wes Stanton, The Editor, Publisher and Proprietor of the magazine wrote a two page article concerning Webley (International) Ltd that contained numerous factual errors; opinion expressed as fact and serious, but wholly erroneous, allegations of trading whilst insolvent in regard to Webley Ltd (In Administration).

I wrote a detailed rebuttal ( click HERE to read the letter) requesting the "Right of Reply" and an apology, unfortunately following lengthy delays on Mr Stanton's part he has failed to offer correction of manifest error and the Right to Reply only on the most restricted basis and with the most onerous pre-conditions

Our Sales staff, calling on retailers, are now finding that the factual errors in Mr Stanton's letter are causing material damage to this company's reputation and business. I therefore have today lodged  a formal complaint with the Press Complaints Commission, supported by detailed documentation. Pending the Commissions findings I reserve the right to take appropriate legal action against Wes Stanton and/or Blaze Publishing

I would ask anyone who has read the original article and found it negatively affected their view of Webley ( International) Ltd, or our products, to contact me for clarification

WEBLEY & SCOTT BREAKS INTO TOP THREE POSITION OF SHOTGUN VENDORS IN THE UK

Webley (International) Ltd (Webley) of Willenhall, West Midlands, UK, the iconic British Shooting company established in 1790, announced today that the highly influential annual survey of buying trends in the shooting sports industry, conducted  by Gun Trade News, the specialist Industry Publication, showed Webley & Scott entering "The Charts" for the first time at the number three position

"Gun Trade News posed the question ‘What is the number one best seller in new shotguns?' to 103 retailers and Webley & Scott came in at third place behind Beretta and Browning" said Mike Hurney, CEO of Webley. "To be in such exalted company within two years of re-entering the shotgun market after a near 30 year absence is especially gratifying and validates our strategy of offering excellent quality, value-for-money products, with an unrivalled Lifetime Warranty. The product ‘Does What It Says on the Tin' and pricing is perfect for these credit-crunched times" he added.

The survey showed Webley & Scott having an 8% market share, only 4% behind that of Browning, and four times that of either Bettinsoli or Lincoln

"The Webley & Scott 800 semi-automatic and 900 over and under ranges have been particularly successful for us" said Paul Garrity, Webley's Technical Manager, and a near 40 year company veteran."The 800 series features our unique REVERSApiston TM gas management system that aids the fault-free shooting of the widest possible range of cartridge loads, whilst the 900 series is simply the best-specified shotgun in its class. With some new, category-changing products to be launched in the next few months, we are confident of more market-share gains in next year's survey" he concluded.
