IMPORTANT NOTICE TO WEBLEY
SHOOTERS & WEBLEY RETAILERS
WEBLEY
(INTERNATIONAL) LTD AND BLAZE PUBLISHING LTD
(Publishers of "Gun Trade News" magazine)
In the
January/February Issue of the above publication, Wes Stanton, The Editor,
Publisher and Proprietor of the magazine wrote a two page article concerning
Webley (International) Ltd that contained numerous factual errors; opinion
expressed as fact and serious, but wholly erroneous, allegations of trading
whilst insolvent in regard to Webley Ltd (In
Administration).
I wrote a
detailed rebuttal ( click HERE to read the letter) requesting the "Right of
Reply" and an apology, unfortunately following lengthy delays on Mr Stanton's
part he has failed to offer correction of manifest error and the Right to Reply
only on the most restricted basis and with the most onerous
pre-conditions
Our Sales
staff, calling on retailers, are now finding that the factual errors in Mr
Stanton's letter are causing material damage to this company's reputation and
business. I therefore have today lodged a formal complaint with the Press
Complaints Commission, supported by detailed documentation. Pending the
Commissions findings I reserve the right to take appropriate legal action
against Wes Stanton and/or Blaze Publishing
I would ask
anyone who has read the original article and found it negatively affected their
view of Webley ( International) Ltd, or our products, to contact me for
clarification

Webley is probably the oldest name in the British gun industry – able to trace its origins back to 1790 when William Davis started making bullet moulds in his factory in Birmingham, England.
Over the years the company gained a worldwide reputation for high quality guns of all types. As far back as 1911 the company had patented an air pistol and in 1924 launched the Mark I air pistol. Many other models have followed over the years but all have had Webley’s core values of high quality, high performance and value for money at their heart.
Over the past couple of decades the company has led a precarious financial existence until tragically it was forced to call in the receivers at the end of 2005. In March 2006 Airgunsport, the leading supplier of airguns and accessories purchased the company and saved this famous name from extinction.
